I am going to continue this.....
I am going to continue this....I am going to continue this...I am going to continue this......
The other day Cal was into me about the fact that I never finish things that I start. I, of course, argued the opposite point of view, but it got me thinking about what I do start and not finish. I guess this Blog thing is becomming one of them.
I am now determined to keep this up to date. For the amount of time I spend in front of the computer, it shouldn't be too hard an ask.
I'm not sure that it's worth going too far backwards. Do I really need to list what's been going on since my last post here???? I don't think so, so I will start with what's going on with me in the 'here and now'.
Well, the bulk of my time is spent looking after Ardyn. And as I do't really have any friends in Sydney, most of my time is spent with her. She goes to swimming and music classes during the week, and I LOVE going to these with her. The rest of the time during the week it's just us. We play, go shopping, eat...hehe....gotta do less of that. But it does get a bit lonely sometimes. I guess that's understandable. But friends will come.
That's where scrapbooking has been a bit of a saviour. I was introduced to the hobby/craft/obsession just over a year ago by my SIL, but have only relly taken it seriously for 2 months. I have spent about 10 months 'collecting', now it's time to USE!!! Ha!
Anyway, I have no doubt that I was suffering a bit of depression when we first moved up here, and I think that that's a bit understandable. Alone with a 6-month old day after day. But I had joined an Yahoo group for scrapbooking based in FNQ (Memories and More) in about January, and they kept me sane. Like a link to the outside world. I didn't do any scrapping, just bought stuff, and chatted. Then in January I decided that I needed a weekend away, so I jumped on the 'net to find a scrapping retreat. That's when I came across another 2 groups that I joined, and have since loved being a part of. One is a Yahoo Group based in Brisbane (Aussie Layouts through The Scrap Heap), and the other a forum through an online store based in Newcastle (Scrap Needs).
I LOVE these girls. They keep me sane. And no, I donn't chat on all three, just Scrap Needs. I kind of 'lurk' on the others. Naughty me!
So in early March I went away to a retreat with the Scrap Needs girls and had a BLAST! I will go into more of that later, as this post will end up WAY too long.
I think that that's enough of my ramblings for now. I now have to work out how to put photos and stuff on this. I guess you could say that I'm a Blog Virgin of sorts. I'll get there, and be a Junkie in no time!
