Weekly update

Well, it's been a week since I last posted, and what a week it's been. Warning, this may be a long post.

My exciting news from last week that I couldn't say....mum & dad are moving to Sydney!!!!! I couldn't post it here, as they hadn't fully decided, and hadn't told my brothers. I didn't think that it would be fair for them to possibly read it here before they were told my M&D. I am so excited that Ardyn will be able to grow up with at least half of her grandparents in the same city!!!! And to have relatives in the same town is going to be so wonderful for us in general. They will stay with us until they find a place to live. I'm so glad that we got the HUGE house now. I wonder how I'll go living with my parents again after all these years??? Ha! Can't wait! Mal and Dunc are happy too. At least M&D will only be a couple of hours away now. It's a good result for everyone!

Here is a pic of the little pressie that I made for Miss Lisa. I gave it to her on Saturday before we went to Leura, and she said she loved it. I hope she loved it. Some of you may have already seen it on her Blog.

It's the first canvas that I've ever made, and I'm really happy with the way that it's turned out.

Firstly, the house got sold, so no more Open for Inspections...yay!

So I went away with the wonderful Lisa last weekend and had a ball! Not a lot of scrapping done, but a lot of chatting done. What a great friend to have! We went out to the 3 Sisters (as you do when you're in the Blue Mountains) froze our tits off, and took the obligatory photos that you do there.....I'm having trouble uploading, so I will share at a later date.....and managed to cart home half a dozen bottles of the local chardonnay from a little bottle shop there. Yum! And we had the most wonderful host, Steve. I can honestly say that if you are looking for a cosy, clean and affordable place to stay in the Blue Mountains, give him a call. He's wonderful. Click here to go to the site for his cottage.

I managed to create one thing for the weekend, but Lisa reckons that there was a lot of work put into it, so she'll let me off. It is currently in the mail to the recipient, so I will post pics next week when I'm sure that she has it. I'm pretty proud of it. It also helped me define my style.

Being reasonably new to scrapping, I've never had a style, so I borrow from all over. But after Lisa saw what I do, she says that I've got a more ecelctic style than anything. As I said, I like to borrow from a lot of different styles, and when you put it all together, I guess it's kind of eclectic. Not to the point that I would like it to be though. I have a LONG way to go. I do like that term though. I hope that I can evolve to create work that uses these principles. But I'm feeling that my stuff is a litttle too simple for my liking right now. I'm definitley not collagey, and not graphic and simple........as a person I am somewhere in between, and I'd like my art to reflect that as well. A little bit quirky. You know? I'll get there.

So, the rest of the week was pretty normal, except that Miss A had her first full day in Occasional Care. It's getting easier on both of us. She slept there okay and only cried for a short time when I left. She now hugs and kisses all the workers there too, which is great. And while she was there, I got to enjoy myself at the Quilt and Craft Fair. What a day! I found some yummy new Heidi Grace papers and alphabets, and some other bits and pieces that I just HAD to have. IYKWIM. Ha! I was hoping to come home with some gorgeous new Primas, but it looks as if I may have to buy them retail.

Today we took Miss A to the Aquarium. That was awesome fun, and it wore her out a beauty. After a restless night last night, she hasn't made a peep tonight (knock on wood). She loved the tropical fish, the seals and the gift shop the most :) . The shark Oceanarium freaked her out a bit.

Today also marks the first birthday of our very speceial friend Jordan, and we are so disappointed that we couldn't get to Melbourne this weekend to help him celebrate. I can't wait to see heaps of photos, which I'm sure that Jane will send - hint hint. Ardyn had a couple of funny afternoons there this week, and I didn't get a chance to get to the PO on time, so his present won't arrive until Monday. But by the sounds of it he has enough to keep him going until then.

And a Happy Birthday to Miss Lisa who is celebrating her 30th tonight....probably getting drunk so that the actual day of her birthday tomorrow is a blur! Enjoy my love!

So that's been my week. Nothing much planned for tomorrow. Packing maybe. Only 10 days until we move, and not much packed. Won't take long though.

Until next time....K xx
