Kiwiscraps and stuff
I'm a few days late posting about Kiwiscraps Freestyling Downunder, and the excitiment in me has died down. So if this at all sounds like I didn't have a good time, don't beleive it, because I did. Like last year I didn't take a single photo, so I have nothing ot share in that respect, but will share pics of my projects once I get them all finished. And like last year, it was not only awesome to meet and learn from some very cool tutors, but to catch up with friends in person. I think that this is maybe the best part of it all.
I remember last year when Libby mentioned something quite true. That it doesn't matter if your the CEO of a major company or a SAHM, when you walk into something like that, you are all there for the same reason, and can leave your 'other life' behind for a few days. Janine mentioned it as well on her Blog, that for 4 days she was just a scrapbooker, and could leave all of her other roles behind.
It's kind of cool to be able to do that. I however couldn't 100% as I was too busy coughing up a lung for most of the weekend, and have been since. The mongrel cold that I spoke about last week is still with me. It moved to my chest on Friday morning, and by Friday night the air conditioning at the Mercure made sure that it was going to stay.
By Saturday I had little to no voice from coughing all night, but was feeling 'okay'. I wasn't running any sort of a temperature, and wasn't feeling achy, so I was still able to function. Sunday was a struggle. I couldn't eat, couldn't speak, was coughing up crap.....it was all bad. Thank God it was a short day. By the time that I got home at about 3:30pm I was a wreck.
Cal was awesome all weekend taking care of his Princess, even to the point that every morning he would make sure that she didn't disturb me so that I could get as much sleep as needed until I had to get back to the Mercure. I'm so glad that I decided to stay at home. Any friends that I would have shared a room with would have dumped me so quickly. There is no way that anhone would have gotten any sleep sharing with me. Cal has even moved into the spare room until I stop the coughing and spluttering at all hours.
But all in all I had a really good time. Emily is the kindest soul that you will ever meet, and her art just astounds me. Tia is so full of energy she made me feel even sicker than I was. Rhonna is a tiny little person with the personality of a 6-footer, and Kim is so sweet and so full of ideas I don't know where they come from. She is going ot make such a good mum. What a great group of tutors to have in one place. I'm glad that I got to meet them.
So what else has been happening???? Well, since the weekend, I've just been trying to take it easy. Ardyn isn't 100% well yet either, although I don't think that she got as bad as I did. I think that because we can dope her up helps a bit, but I can't really take anything for a cold. So this week we are going pretty easy at it and not planning to do too much. I think that I have an appointment to see the obstetrician sometime soon, I can't remember if that's this week though.
On that, bub is fine. It's wriggling around all over the place, and growing quite quickly. I've been getting some great stretching pains down my sides which I'm sure that I didn't get with Ardyn. This one seems to have growth spurts rather than a steady stream of it. I'm about 25 weeks now. I'll post a belly pic this week sometime.
Speaking of big bellies Janie is due next week. How exciting! I hope for her that she goes early. I can't wait to get down to Melbourne at the end of the month to see not only the new Hall bub, but the new Carrozza bub as well. Melissa is due a week after Jane! Whoa! Babies comgin out everywhere. Before we know it it will be our turn. It's going to be pretty busy between coming back from Melbourne and August. We have visitors booked in for a few of the weekends in June and July already which will take up a good amount of time. I love having the visitors. It's great to see everyone, and it will serve a dual purpose of passing the time.
We are putting a 'blanket ban' on visitors for the whole of August. So if you are plannig to make a trip up here, can you make it before or after August. It's just so that we can get used to going from a 3-person family to a 4-person family. Ardyn will need time to adjust, and having any visitors here is just not fair on her. I am also not comfortable having anyone here at that time. My biggest nightmare would be to come home from hospital and actaully have someone staying in my house. I keep remembering Julie-ann's story about coming home with Emily all those years ago and finding an interstate visitor there........................eeekkk!!!!!!
This may all sound a bit rude, as I am including family in this as well as friends, but that's just how I feel. So as much as we would love to see people, and love having visitors, we would not love them in August.
Well I actaully had more to say, but I think that I've rambled on enough. My brain feels kind of 'blah'. I think that I probably need more sleep.
I'll try and make a bit more of a coherent post in a couple of days.
K xx

Hi Kirst
It was great to see you again at Kiwiscraps. You are looking great!
Don't blame you on the visitor ban, I do it all the time and I'm not pregnant LOL.
Carol :-)
