Alone Again...............but happy!
I've had the BEST lst few days. After such a shitty couple of weeks, I was due for a good time.
On Thursday afternoon my bestest friends Sue and Jeff and their 2 kids came up to visit. It was awesome seeing them, and the kids just love spending time together. I think that they went straight into chasey around the house. This is the second visit that Sue and Jeff have made to see us this year, and I am SOOOOOO grateful for it! I only have to mention 'come on up' and they have their tickets booked. So grateful.........
Anyway..................
So Q and I went to Boy From Oz on Thursday night...Hugh Jackman as Peter Allen. It was FANTASTIC!!!! We had such a good time. Dinner in Darling Harbour and then the show. It was a great girl's night out while the boys stayed at home and looked after the kids. We love them for it. And I love Cal for the tickets. I still think that he would have liked the show.
On Friday, the boys had to work, so Q and I took the kids in to Darling Harbour on the train. What a treat for them, and what a treat for us chasing the three of them around the playground! "Exhausted" is a word that almost describes how we felt by the end of the day. We didn't get any photos as we were busy keeping eyes on children. We even left our prams unattended (oops!) but couldnt watch EVERYTHING!
So Friday night was very quiet. The boys had had long days too, but the kids went down quite easily, so it was a lovely night just sitting around catching up, kind of watching the footy. Well the boys were watching, Q and I were disturbing them chatting. Ha!
Saturday we headed up to the Newport Arms and met up with a friend of Sue and Joffa's who lives in Willoughby. She was lovely, and had 2 kids about the same age as Sue and Jeff's young-uns. Again, the kids had a great time running around the playgrounds and tiring themselves out. Which again made for a relatively easy bedtime, and a quiet night for us again. We took the one car with 4 adults and 3 kids. It was hillarious watching Cal and Jeff climbing into the back of the Landcruiser for the ride home. They're both over 6 foot, and we couldn't fold the back seats down coz they all had child seats in them......funny.
Today Q and Joffa were flying out at 3pm, so we played around the house. The boys did a trip to Bunnings, and took all three kids (they wanted to go much to Cal and Jeff's disappointment - YAY BUNNINGS!!!!)and when they came back, the kids were pooped! I dread to think what they were doing at the hardware warehouse! Ha! Running amok no doubt.
And then a couple of hours ago they piled into their car and left :( Cal has gone out to a birthday party for a guy from his work's son, and I am here cleaning up (and updating my Blog while I remember to). We had a great few days, and I hate it when visitors leave. It's so nice though when your friend can hug you, tell you that they love you, and miss you already. I am blessed to have friends like these people. They are 2 of my oldest, and I am so glad that they're not going anywhere.
Okay, done with the mushy stuff, next weekend I'm off to Scrapabout Australia to attend some classes with the lovely and very talented Miss Kerrin Quall. Can't wait. And then Lisa and I are going to meet up with our fav Memories and More DT member Tania for dinner. She's coming over from WA for the footy, and we are lucky enough to have time to catch upi with her! YAY!
This week is pretty busy too. Coffee with Miss Lisa tomorrow, music for Miss Ardyn on Tuesday and Thursday (make up class), Bub Hub meet on Friday, and then my busy weekend. Should be good though. Looking forward to meeting up with the girls from Bub Hub and of course seeing Lis. Always love seeing Lis.
So that's it for now. I'm feeling a lot happier than my last few posts - even though my bud has left....*sniff* Bye for now. I hope that you are all having a great week!
