Eerie
It's eerily quiet here at the moment. Ardyn decided that she wanted to have a sleep, and Bailey's been down for a little while. This is a first! So I thought that I'd spend 5 minutes and update my Blog. It's been so long.
Things are going well. Bailey is 10 weeks old now, and is growing steadily. She is bigger than Ardyn was at the same age, but then again, she was bigger to start with. And it's by about that ratio that she is bigger now. She is smiling and laughing, and is generally a very happy little girl. She only cries if she's hungry or hurt (like when Ardyn stands on her). We thought that we'd turned a corner with her sleep, as she started sleeping from 7pm to at least 3:30am, but we've just gone back to 1:30am for some reason...maybe a growth spurt?
Speaking of turning corners, Ardyn is now officially our BIG girl. She is no longer my baby. Fully toilet trained, sleeps without a dummy........it's good, but bittersweet. My baby is gone. Now I have to look forward t all of those "little girl" traits that she is starting to display. Dressing up as a fairy CONSTANTLY, playing dolls - she even wanted to get into my make-up a couple of weeks ago. This will all be very interesting if she is a girly girl, becasue anyone who knows me knows that I'm not one. Oh, what to do, what to do???
Go shopping. Ha! I've been doing a lot of that lately too. Poor credit card. The papercrafts festival is this weekend, and although I never get to go because we usually go away this particular weekend each year leaving on Friday morning. Plans have changed this year, so guess what I'm doing after dropping Ardyn at Kindy on Friday morning? You guessed it! Poor credit card. [Poor Cal who gets to pay it.]
Whoops! There goes Bailey. I only have a minute or two.
We went down to Tassie for my Nana's 90th nirthday at the start of October. That was really good to see her, and have her meet the girls. Cal came too, so I'm glad that he got to see a bit of my extended family, as he hasn't seen them since we were down there for her 80th.
Mum and dad and Mal and Nikki came down too. It was great to spend some time with (the majority of) my family. As we are all spread out across Victoria and NSW now, it doesn't happen all that often. Funnily enough, mum & dad and us are the only members who live in the same city. And we've had to move to Sydney to get that! But it was a good few days.
We flew back through Melbourne and caught up with the rest of the families and some friends. It was a very quick fly in and fly out, but a lot of fun. We did some some special things (will share later), and had a very enjoyable (albeit quick) visit.
In upcoming events:
I caved and booked into the Kiwiscraps event that is being held from November 9-11. I had only booked into Nic Howard's classes on the Saturday, but then I got a good deal to attend Stacey Julian's that morning too. I thought that as long as I was going, I really should see one of the US tutors. I'm afraid that none of them really appealed to me though.
Then at the end of the month, Miss Lisa and I are heading up the coast for our own little retreat. Just her and I, and plans for challenges and lots of scrapping. Can't wait!!!
Then it's Ardyn's birthday........she's decided that she wants some friends from Kindy over for a little party, so I'm going to have to try to arrange something this week....eek!! What does one do for half a dozen 3 year old girls. If Jen Hall was reading this she'd laugh at me (Queen of the kid's birthday party). Hey Jen, if you do read this , email me some ideas. In fact anyone........EMAIL ME SOME IDEAS!!!
Must hurry - Bailey's starting to wind up.
I have been put into a Mother's Group with mums who have bubs' the same age as Bailey. They are all first time mums, but I am loving it! To be able to talk to adults (okay, so it's about the kids mainly) is fantastic. Five weeks in and the conversation is beginning to venture into more personal stuff rather than just the kids, so we're really getting to knw each other. There are two who literally live around the corner, and lucky for me, they are the 2 that I am getting along with the best.
Gotta fly now. Bailey's really calling now.
Will post some photos later on.
Thanks for stopping by.
