Well, what's been happening?
Quick one:
Ardyn got a hair cut. She now has a cute little bob rather than a fly-a-way scraggly mess. Cal thinks it's too short, I think it's cute.
The Victorians proved for another year that they are the greatest sportsmen in the country - GO THE CATS AND THE STORM!!!!
Mum and Dad came over for a casual lunch on Labour Day. It was great to sit around in the sun having a simple BBQ and playing with the girls.
We celebrated Cal's birthday. Ardyn was so excited by it all, and for days before hand kept telling him what we had bought or done. When he got home from work he was greeted with Ardyn screaming "Happy Birthday" and directing him towards the cake with the inferno on it. Then she proceeded to open his gifts for him. It was fun.
The maternal health nurse put me in the local Mother's Group for kids Bailey's age, and we had our first meeting last week. I am (of course) the only one with 2 kids, but that's okay. I'm about as clueless as them, and it's nice to have other mums (read adults) to talk to. A couple of them live (literally) around the corner. So hopefully I'll have a few more people I can call 'friend' soon.
My Nana's turning 90 so we're off to Tassie to see her.
Bailey is growing and developing really well. She's very smiley, and coos and gurgles heaps when she's happy. We've even got what sounds like a giggle every now and again. We love her gummy grins. She loves playing on her mat and is reaching out to toys and kicks at the toys hanging over her. Ardyn ADORES her, and can often be found on her play mat with her making the toys all move and giving her lots of cuddles. We are one happy family.
Ardyn and I planted a small vegetable garden yesterday. She wasn't too gentle plating the seedlings and I'll be VERY surprised if any of them grow. We have tomatoes, carrots, Cos lettuce, capsicum and strawberries. I guess time will tell.
Bring on daylight savings I say! Ardyn has decided that as the sun is up at 6am, so is she. Although I have heard that some of the kids from Ardyn's Kindy are waking at 5:00/5:30, so we've got it pretty good. It just makes it hard when Bailey feeds at about 5:00 and Ardyn is up at 6:00. Makes for a long day.
Two kids can be exhausting at times! I need more hours in the day to do everything that I want to do.
We are fast becoming regulars at Bunnungs - so sad. But now that the house is ours, we can do what we want with it, and we want to do stuff. Basic, like clear parts of the garden, change the wall colours and put up shelves at the moment, but it's enough to keep us going back to Bunnings.
Ardyn has pretty much been deciding what she wants to wear these days, and we come up with some strange combinations, at times including a tu-tu or fairy wings with gumboots - just lovely, but at least she's wearing clothes I say.
And that's about it off the top of my head. Here's some photos for you:
